Old business
Is there any truth to the saying: keep your friends close, and your enemies closer?
Yes, but with the sort of enemies I've tended to acquire over the years, it's usually a bad idea. I eventually had to retreat into Personal Space to get away from my enemies; when I left my home universe, nearly every man's hand, both nova and baseline, was against me.
Do you have enemies?
In my own universe, too many to count, my former club foremost among them. I doubt that's changed in my absence. If anything, it's likely gotten worse, given that Æon have had sixty years to write the history books without the risk of contrary accounts. (Always assuming there's anyone left to write those books. But I think the telluric disturbance that brought me out of Personal Space was caused by humans, and it seemed to come from the vicinity of Earth, so there's probably still history being made and books being written about it.)
They've probably made me out to be a combination of Malcolm X, Hitler and Satan. If I had returned to my home universe, I imagine Æon would have started hunting me down the moment I set foot on Earth.
Here... none yet, though I doubt that can last indefinitely. One thing I've noticed in two centuries of Inspired life is that probability seems to bend around us. Usually, this works in our favor, but often enough, it also serves to make life interesting, in the Chinese sense.
Do you have more friends than enemies?
Perhaps. This John Constantine seems interesting, as do several of his connections. I may have to contact them, or invite them to contact me, and see what we have to talk about.
